Therapy in Kelowna & Online Across BC

Support for when things feel overwhelming, stuck, or hard to make sense of.

If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that don’t seem to shift, therapy can offer a space to slow down, understand what’s happening, and begin to move forward in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable.

I offer trauma-informed counselling for adults in Kelowna and online across British Columbia, supporting you in working through difficult experiences, relationship challenges, and the internal patterns that come with them.

A Trauma-Focused Approach to Therapy

My work is grounded in understanding how your experiences—past and present—shape your thoughts, emotions, and nervous system.

Rather than focusing only on coping strategies, we look at what’s underneath the patterns you’re experiencing so we can begin to shift them in a more lasting way. This approach is collaborative, supportive, and paced to feel manageable, so you can move forward without feeling overwhelmed.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a central part of how I support clients in working through trauma and anxiety. It’s an evidence-based approach that helps your brain process experiences at their root—so you’re not just understanding what’s happening, but actually feeling a shift in how those experiences show up in your day-to-day life.

If EMDR feels like the right fit, we can integrate it into our work together.

Evidence-Based Therapy Approaches

I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches to support your goals and integrate them based on what will be most helpful for you.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy's basic premise is that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are all linked and affect one another. By incorporating coping skills and interventions at one of those three areas, it will then positively affect the others.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

DBT was originally created to help those suffering with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). At Hailey Kanigan Counselling, DBT is not only applied to BPD but also helps those suffering with anxiety and depression.

Mindfulness-Based Approaches

Mindfulness is an ancient practice that focuses on being in the present moment without judgment. Cognitive based skills are taught that emphasize being in the present moment, being around of one's inner self, and their surroundings.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

This approach is designed to get to the core of the issue quickly and efficiently, creating a solution-focused outcome. This approach involves setting specific, measurable, and attainable goals for each client, and working collaboratively to achieve them.
